At First Story, we believe that owning your own home and building equity is a path to ending the cycle of multi-generational poverty. And we believe that hardworking, capable and prepared families deserve this chance at success - it's why we're here. First Story's affordable loan program provides zero-down, zero-interest, 30-year loans to qualified individuals purchasing their first home.
First Story homes are located in charming neighborhoods and thriving Hayden Homes communities across Oregon, Washington and Idaho. Homes are new builds, or fully remodeled through our Fresh Start program, with the same quality, care and aesthetics as all of the homes in that community. Homes are sold move-in ready with all appliances, washer & dryer, blinds and front & backyard landscaping.
While it’s our mission to provide quality homes and interest-free loans, it’s our families’ job to prepare for a successful homeownership journey. We ask all applicants to contact a local housing authority or housing assistance program to take specific home buying and budgeting classes prior to applying for a First Story home.
