First Story is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to fortifying communities and disrupting the cycle of multigenerational poverty through affordable homeownership.

Each First Story home is located within a Hayden Homes community and comes fully move-in ready, complete with appliances, a washer and dryer, and finished landscaping.

Together we are breaking the cycle of poverty—all without a single dollar of government subsidy.

First Story was founded in 1998 as a grassroots way for team members at Hayden Homes to support community members in need.

Now, First Story is an impactful, independent nonprofit offering zero-percent, zero-down, 30-year mortgages on new and remodeled Hayden Homes that provide affordable homeownership opportunities to families throughout the Northwest.
