He is at nearly every First Story event, moving coyly, discreetly and rarely even noticed, all the while getting the perfect shot from the perfect angle. The man behind the lens is Kevin Raichl, Owner of Visual Thinking NW. Visual Thinking Northwest is a media production company based in our hometown of Bend, OR. As a small team, our partners play a big role in what we do. No one plays a bigger role in helping connect others with our mission than Kevin.

Kevin has been telling our story for over a decade. The details are sketchy in his memory, but he recalls the very first piece he ever produced for First Story was at a home dedication in Redmond, Oregon, in late 2008. Kevin’s favorite project was when Claire and her twin sister Heather hit the road with go pros. They filmed all kinds of silly and crazy footage giving Kevin hours of content to put together a summer recap that left folks in stitches.

I asked Kevin what First Story meant to him and he said, “First Story is part of my family, too. I get this incredible front-row seat to these deserving families, with hard stories, changing their lives forever. I hope the motion we use to bring the story alive inspires others to donate and get involved. I would like to think I am a small part of that.”

Kevin, is a big part of that and a special member of our First Story family. We appreciate him immensely and honor him with this month’s First Story #HiFive!
