The holidays are a perfect time to bring cheer to your office and do a little teambuilding while you’re at it! The First Story team poured some cider, complete with cinnamon and nutmeg of course, and got down to business decorating our office for the holidays. Read on for some of our tips and tricks!
First you’ll need some festive outfits – we opted for Grinch onesies and Santa hats, but you can deck the halls in whatever gay apparel you’d prefer.
An easy and cost-efficient way to spruce up your space is by adding a garland. Whether you opt for traditional looking pine or a glittery pink, get a lot of bang for your buck by grabbing a re-usable garland. Although, if you do want to go for real pine, this is a great way to support your favorite local plant shop or nursery. We opted for re-usable, complete with mini pine cones and lights, and topped our First Story sign with it.

Think outside the (gift) box! We have two paintings hanging on our wall and thought they’d make great Christmas present decorations! We wrapped them in leftover holiday paper and stuck two big bows on top. While our desks may be covered in glitter, the view is very festive.

Poinsettias are an easy addition to any décor and help fill out any empty spaces you might have. We got ours at Trader Joe’s but they can be found almost anywhere at this time. Plop them down wherever needs a little sprucing. We framed our tree and even stuck a few near the door to greet visitors with holiday cheer as soon as they walk in.
Of course, no holiday décor is complete without a tree! We ordered a small tabletop tree and decked it out with lights. When it comes to ornaments, let your team’s art skills (or lack thereof) shine by purchasing plain wood or plastic ornaments and painting them yourselves! We armed ourselves with a pack of glitter pens and some wooden snowflakes and got down to business.

We hope this helps get your office in full holiday swing as we count down the last few days of 2021!
