At First Story, we love to give Hi-Fives! Today we are giving a BIG HI-FIVE to our loyal community of donors who, last year amidst all of the uncertainty, stood by us and showed up like never before. In what was our biggest year ever our founder, Hayden Homes, never wavered in their commitment to nine homes, our huge group of construction partners gave their labor and materials and our generous donors never closed their checkbooks. As we emerge from the pandemic, First Story is stronger than ever because our donors care more than ever.
We recently caught up with some special donors and asked them why giving is such a big part of their culture. Peggy Hobin, Regional President Southern Oregon for Washington Federal Bank, had this to say:
“At a time when community giving couldn’t be more important WaFd Bank is honored to step up to support First Story and the good work they do in our community with a foundation grant of $10,000 for the third consecutive year. Their mission to help hardworking families find success in owning their own home and build a path to end multi-generational poverty aligns with WaFd’s mission to help generations of families own their homes since 1917. Together, we’re making a difference and changing lives one home at a time.”
And longtime First Story champion Dan Oxford, Vice President of AmeriTitle, shared this:
”With a big percentage of the communities and businesses struggling with the lockdowns of the past year, we feel it’s important to give resources to those that have not wavered in their push to help others. First Story is always at the top of our list. During the pandemic, certain individuals and teams have represented the best of attitudes during difficult times and we at AmeriTitle have chosen to align ourselves with those qualities and First Story is definitely that cause worth aligning with.”
#HiFive to our biggest donors in 2020:
We are humbled and blessed for the outpouring of support. Thank you to ALL of our incredible donors who continue to make us First Story strong!
