First Story is thrilled to announce the appointment of Caleb Anderson as board president. Anderson, Broker at Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty, will serve a two-year term. He succeeds Angela Price, former executive at Pacific Power, who has served on the board since 2015.
As we begin a new year in uncharted waters, we are thankful to have Caleb at the helm. With over 18 years of combined Real Estate experience, Caleb and his wife Ellie have had a front row seat to the affordable housing crisis. Seeing the need to provide affordable options for hard-working families, Caleb joined the First Story Board of Directors in 2013 and has been the board treasurer for the past two years.
“He has served our mission well,” said Executive Director Claire Duncan. “He is raising awareness among his peers, building relationships with our families & living a ‘pay it forward’ lifestyle. I am confident in our future and in Caleb’s leadership as we continue to grow and expand our impact.”
For his part, Caleb feels well prepared to lead First Story in these unprecedented times. I asked him about taking the reigns as the country emerges from the pandemic. “My predecessor ensured that the wishes of our supporters to provide affordable housing & fund community organizations via giving grants could continue through these difficult times. There’s nothing quite like going to a dedication of a new First Story home, watching a family achieve a lifelong dream of home ownership, and also seeing the look of pride and accomplishment of those that helped build and provide a home for a deserving family.”
Caleb credits the unwavering support from Hayden Homes & fellow board members for First Story’s continued success. First Story’s Board of Directors is comprised of individuals from the home construction, academic, government and volunteer communities. It is the Board’s responsibility to provide counsel and guidance in the direction and operation of First Story, as well as, raise awareness of First Story’s impact throughout the Pacific Northwest.
We have no doubt that Caleb, along with the support of Ellie and their two children, Anna & John, will ensure that First Story continues to be a light of hope in the communities we serve. Welcome, Caleb!
